11 government school students hospitalised in Goa
June 15th, 2011 - 4:01 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, June 15 (IANS) Eleven students of a government school in Goa were hospitalised Wednesday when they complained of nausea soon after eating their mid-day meal, an official said.
The meal was prepared by a local self-help group at a school in Vasco, 35 kms from here, Assistant Director (Education) Anil Powar said.
The 11 students were admitted to a nearby primary health centre and their condition was stabile, he said.
“The incident occurred at the Murgao high school. They were admitted after they ate the food given to them under the Mid-day Meal Scheme,” Powar said.
The education department has ordered a probe, he added.
