11 executed in Iraq
November 17th, 2011 - 8:39 pm ICT by IANSBaghdad, Nov 17 (IANS/AKI) Eleven people were executed Thursday in Iraq for their involvement in terrorist activities, the justice ministry said.
Among those executed was a Tunisian national who detonated a bomb at a Shiite shrine in 2006.
The Tunisian was convicted for bombing the Askari shrine, a spokesman for the ministry of justice said.
The bombing in February 2006 caused no casualties but more than 1,000 people were killed in violence that followed it, according to reports.
