10 students injured as school bus overturns
August 24th, 2011 - 8:30 pm ICT by IANSSaharanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 24 (IANS) At least 10 students were injured, five of them critically, when their school bus overturned and fell into a ditch here Wednesday, police said.
The accident took place in Rampur area, when the bus of N.R.S. Public School carrying students to their homes spun out of control due to high speed and overturned.
“With the help of the locals, the students trapped inside the bus were rescued. All the injured students have been admitted to hospital,” police Inspector Rajendra Tyagi told reporters in Saharanpur, some 500 km from Lucknow.
The injured students are in the age group of 8-15 years. The driver too was admitted with minor injuries.
