10 soldiers, 40 militants killed in Pakistan clash
January 31st, 2012 - 6:02 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Islamabad, Jan 31 (IANS) At least 40 militants and 10 soldiers were killed in a clash Tuesday in Pakistan’s northwest tribal region, a media report said.
As many as 32 other troopers were injured Tuesday in the clash in Kurram Agency, Xinhua reported citing local media.
The clash broke out when an unknown number of militants stormed a security check-post in the volatile Jogi area of Kurram, a tribal area along the Afghan border.
Tuesday’s attack came a day after security forces carried out an operation against militants using gunship helicopters. In the aerial attack, several hideouts were destroyed and at least 10 militants were killed.
