10 die in China house collapse
November 15th, 2011 - 1:32 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Nov 15 (IANS) Ten people were killed and 12 injured Monday night when a house collapsed as they were making the funeral arrangements for the house owner’s dead uncle in central China’s Hunan province, authorities said Tuesday.
The incident happened at around 7.40 p.m. in Yuejin village, reported Xinhua citing a press release.
As many as 22 villagers were buried in the debris of the ramshackle house, where they were making funeral arrangements for the home owner’s dead uncle.
Rescuers searched in the rubble until midnight. Eight bodies were retrieved and 14 people were sent to hospital with injuries.
Two critically injured villagers died in hospital Tuesday morning.
