April 8th, 2011 - 11:46 pm ICT by IANSBerlin, April 8 (IANS) At least 10 people were killed and more than 90 others were injured in a highway pile-up near the German port city of Rostock Friday, Xinhua reported.
Some 40 cars and three trucks were involved in the pile-up on the A19 highway, the police said.
The crash caused about 20 vehicles to catch fire, including a truck carrying flammable material, police added.
A sandstorm was blamed for the pile-up, as it reduced visibility on the highway to less than 100 metres.
