New Delhi, Aug 9 (IANS) Ten people were arrested this year for involvement in the production and distribution of spurious drugs in Delhi this year, Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran said Tuesday.

“Two cases of spurious drugs production and distribution racket were registered in Delhi this year,” Ramachandran informed the Lok Sabha.

Last year there were five cases, in 2009 six cases and in 2008 one case, he said in a written reply.

To check the production and distribution of such drugs, special inspections and raids at manufacturing units and sale outlets are carried out from time to time, the minister said.
