Yaovaraj, Thailand’s China town, is all set for vegetarian festival, officially begins September 29 spanning to October 7.
The annual meatless fair is, for this year, coupled with praying ceremony to contribute to the late Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Wattana.
Both sides of Yaovaraj road, near Chalren Buri’s intersection and nearby areas, are now crowded with food vending booths and restaurants, especially for vegetarian foods, a sign for commencement of the vegetarian festival on Monday September 29.
The vegetarian food booths are restaurants have been orderly and beautifully arranged. They are decorated with yellow flags, noted symbol of vegetarian festival.
Chinese-Thai people have begun to buy the vegetarian dishes, although not in significant number yet. They usually flock to buy the foods during the evening dragged to the night.
