Whip Chairman confident Interior Minister can tackle PAD’s protestAugust 27th, 2008 - 11:51 am ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
Chairman of the Government Whip, Withaya Buranasiri (วิทยา บุรณศิริ), says he believes that the interior minister will be able to tackle the rally initiated by the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) and warns that the protestors should not move to the Parliament House as they will further violate the Constitution Act.
The chairman says the Whip meeting today (August, 27th) will discuss PAD’s rally and the group’s seizure of many government places. He says the premier’s announcement yesterday to use resolute measures to control the situation is the lest aggressive response to the rally.
Mr Withaya says further that Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Kowit Wattana, who was assigned by the premier to control the mob, will be able to improve the situation as he is a former police officer.
