August 1st, 2008 - 1:52 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi

Whip Chairman Samart Kaewmeechai (สามารถ แก้วมีชัย) affirmed that the government would not deal with Constitution Amendment today but would handle it once a committee established to study its adjustment reached its 60 day term on the 18th of August. The committee’s conclusions will be part of the amendment proposal.

Nonetheless, Mr. Samart affirmed that articles 237 and 209 must be amended and likened them to tonsils, saying their loss will have little effect. Later statements revealed that the Whip has already prepared a draft of amendments that can be used.
