Director-General of the Department of Water Resources Siripong Hungspreug (ศิริพงศ์ หังสพฤกษ) revealed that the flood problem entails the work of many agencies and as the Department of Water Resources is one of those agencies, it has decided to take steps to prevent flooding and aid citizens. Mr. Siripong revealed that a budget has been requested to install warning machines in 500 villages throughout the nation’s northern region.
The Director-General however stated that water levels in dams in the country are lower than previous years and do not warrant any concern at the moment but nonetheless asked citizens in coastal areas to beware of flash floods.
