October 8th, 2008 - 3:14 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi -

Two police were wound on Tuesday by gunshot after clashes between the police and protesting People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), while ambulance supposed to pick up the two injured police still could not gain access to the site due to PAD’s on going blocking Parliament’s gates.

At approximately 5:50 pm on Tuesday October 7, an emergency ambulance was dispatched to pick up two injured police officers from the Parliament’s compound.

However, because of the ongoing event of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD)’s beseiging the Parliament’s compound, the ambulances was unable to enter the Parliament’s grounds. Instead, other police nurses on scene had to conduct first aid on the injured.

The first officer had a wound from gunshot at his right collarbone. The bullet was safely removed from the officer’s body. He was in stable condition.

The second officer was wound by gundshot to his right chest. He was in serious condition.

Nurses on location were trying to gain access to the ambulance to pick up the injured.
