A trough of rather active low pressure is present across the northern and upper northeastern regions of Thailand, while southwest monsoon winds prevails over the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. Wind and waves are predicted to intensify in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf From August 5 to 8.
The northern, eastern, and southwestern regions are expected to experience widespread thundershowers, while the central, southern, and metropolitan regions are expected to experience scattered thundershowers, with isolated heavy rains in most provinces. Residents of Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Phetchabun, Nong Khai, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan and Kalasin provinces should expect heavy rain condition during this period.
