Thai and Cambodian soldiers will be conducting joint patrols near the Ta Muean Thom Khmer Ruins (ปราสาทตาเมือนธม).
Following a meeting to between Suranaree (สุรนารี) Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Kanok Netakawesana (กนก เนตระคเวสนะ), and the Deputy Governor of Oddar Meancheay (ซาน วันนา) province of Cambodia, Mr. San Wanna (ซาน วันนา), on August 5, local officials have agreed to conduct joint military patrols between the 26th Rangers, 2nd Regional Army of Thailand and the 1st Long Range Reconnaisance Company of Cambodia near the Ta Muean Thom Khmer Ruins (ปราสาทตาเมือนธม), marking a decrease in tensions over the disputed historical site.
Thai officials report that the de-escalation of military forces has yet to commence, and Thai soldiers continue to carry out their duties. Thai forces stationed near the Ta Muean Thom Khmer Ruins (ปราสาทตาเมือนธม) have not been increased, however, troop numbers remain level.
