The meeting was a collaboration between the military, police, security agencies and the US Embassy in Bangkok as well as the US Military Ambassador. The US President’s wife is scheduled to visit Tak province and its border with Cambodia in the Mae Sod (แม่สอด) district area this August 7th.
Three initial preparations have been made, the first being complete collaboration over security measures to create a 100 percent safe zone. The second preparation will be to facilitate ease of travel and accommodation for the First Lady, and the third preparation will be to facilitate the First Lady’s entourage. The First Lady’s visit will mostly focus on visiting refugee camps along the Thai-Cambodian border.
