Surin kicks off 116 day project with flag marathon

Early this morning at the Surin province hall Deputy Governor of Surin province Wanchai Udomsin (วันชัย อุดมสิน) presided over an opening ceremony to kick off a marathon for the “116 days from mothers day to fathers day” project. The marathon will run a symbolic flag of the project which has been submitted to every province. Mr. Wanchai led civil servants, military personnel, police and citizens in running the Royally Entrusted flag from the provincial hall to the hall’s front lawn to be handed over to District Chief Office of Surin Supol Leemangkul (สุพล ลีมางกูร) and awaiting runners. The Muang district is the first of 17 districts in the province to participate in the marathon which will run until the 30th of November.

Mr. Wanchai stated that for today, the marathon will extend to the three tambon of the Muang district before continuing on to other districts. After the marathon is concluded in November, the flag will be sent to join with others in Bangkok on the 3rd of December.
