Southern authorities apprehend RKK insurgents

Su-ngai Kolok (สุไหงโก-ลก) Police Superintendent Pol. Col. Phrabparn Meemongkol (ปราบพาล มีมงคล) and Narathiwat 36 Special Task Force Commander Pol. Lt. Col. Pongsith Kachornkittiphum (พงษ์สิทธิ์ ขจรกิตติภูมิ) led more than 100 soldiers, border patrol officers, and police officers to cordon off a residence in Marakas (มัรกัส) village, Su-ngai Kolok (สุไหงโก-ลก) district of Narathiwat province.

Authorities received information that members of the Runda Kumpulan Kecil (RKK) insurgent group were present in the village and were responsible for bombings in the Su-ngai Kolok (สุไหงโก-ลก) municipality during the last 1 to 2 days. Upon nearing the targeted residence, 3 suspects attempted to flee, but were apprehended and later identified as members of the RKK. Among them was Mr. Sayuti Azair (ซายูตี อาแซ), a leading member of the group.

Authorities also seized firearms, narcotics, and material used to assemble explosives.
