Senate Speaker ends role as mediator
September 10th, 2008 - 4:49 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiSenate Speaker Prasopsuk Boondet (ประสพสุข บุญเดช) stated that the changing political situation has prompted him to reevaluate his mediator role as designated by the Senate, House of Representatives and the Government Opposition. Mr. Prasopsuk said that he and his working committee in the mediating role will await a new meeting between the 3 bodies before taking any further action and has thus suspended his mediator role for the time being.
The Senate Speaker said he would allow the administrative branch to attempt to resolve the current situation and stated that the House of Representatives must act according to its duties. He admitted that the Senate is still concerned about nation’s state and is hoping for a positive resolution which will result in unity and peace.
