Senate Speaker confident parliament meeting to select PM will not be cancelled againSeptember 16th, 2008 - 4:31 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
Senate Speaker Prasobsuk Boondet (ประสพสุข บุญเดช) says the parliament meeting on September 17th to select a new prime minister will not be cancelled like the September 12th meeting.
In response to the People Power party’s conflicts over its prime minister candidate, Mr Prasobsuk says he believes the party’s members of the parliaments should abide by the party’s resolution. The senate speaker also says he cannot comment on parliament dissolution as it is the House of Representatives’ duty to decide on the matter.
As for the suggestions that the selection of a new premier today should be postponed, Mr Prasobsuk says the selection has to take place as scheduled as it has been put in the meeting’s agenda.
