Security officials prepare for heavy rail travel during Hari Raya

Internal Security Officers are amassing their numbers to help secure commuter trains for citizens participating in upcoming Hari Raya.

Commander of Songkhla provincial Police, Police Lieutenant General Wirun Eampaijit (วิรุฬ เอี่ยมไพจิตร) stated that authorities and volunteers have been organized to safeguard rail lines leading to and from Had Yai Station and Sungaikolok station in Narathiwat province. The officers will monitor safety and assist passengers which will soon increase numbers due to the celebration of Hari Raya or Eid ul-Fitr which ends the Muslim Ramadan period.

The Hari Raya celebration will begin at the end of this month to mark the finalization of the fasting period. Reports have indicated that all trains traveling in the area will have at least 6 police officers with additional forces at stations, intersection posts and also patrolling at risky areas.
