Royal Thai Police Chief travels to Songkhla to investigate multiple bombing
August 4th, 2008 - 10:29 am ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiThe Royal Thai Police Commissioner General, Pol. Gen. Patcharavat Wongsuwan (พัชรวาท วงษ์สุวรรณ), is preparing to travel to Songkhla in order to oversee investigations into 7 multiple bombings which occurred in the province on August 2nd.
Pol. Gen. Patcharavat said that he will meet with local officials to follow up on investigations, in addition to establishing security protocols for Songkhla province. Authorities are currently questioning witnesses who were present at the 7 bombing locations. Effort is also being made to identify suspects from surveillance camera footage and to obtain forensic evidence.
The Royal Thai Police Commissioner General affirms that considerable progress has been made in investigations due to the collection of valuable information, especially those related to the identities of suspects at the bombing locations.
