Railway Authority reveals 10 million baht per day loss from suspended lines

Head of the Railway Authority of Thailand’s Public Relations Pairach Rojcharoen-ngam (ไพรัช โรจน์เจริญงาม) stated that the authority will run 129 trains from its 244 available lines as well as 31 freight trains. Negotiatins with employees to return to their duties has resulted in an absence decrease of 8 percent. Most of the ongoing suspended lines are located in the south with little impact to Bangkok and its vicinities. The authority has contacted the Transport Company to assist citizens where possible.

Mr. Pairach stated that the reduced train lines have cost an estimated 10 million baht loss in revenue per day.
