Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry Suwit Khunkitti (สุวิทย์ คุณกิตต) presided over the opening of the Northeastern Farmers Assembly today, still retaining his position as leader of the Pua Paendin Party. The leader affirmed that his declaration yesterday to withdraw his party from the coalition government was the correct decision and was done on the behalf of the nation as a clear sign of his party’s stance.
Mr. Suwit admitted that he may not be able to deter the opinions of certain individuals, especially his own party mates. Nonetheless, he said that during the party’s meeting this week, the matter will be clarified to all members.
