Spokesman of the People Power party (PPP), Lt.Kuthep Saikrachang (กุเทพ ใสกระจ่าง), says that neither the premier’s resignation or the parliament dissolution cant resolve the ongoing political problems as the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) only demands a new political system.

The spokesman says the new political system proposed by PAD is undemocratic and PAD will reap benefits from it, similar like that of the last coup d’état. He also dismisses the rumors that PPP is not satisfied with the army chief who refuses to tackle PAD’s rally in line with Emergency Decree. Lt.Kuthep affirms the party supports the army chief and wants PAD to negotiate with the government.

The spokesman says further that the enforcement of Emergency Decree does not affect the general public and the government decided to declare a state of emergency in Bangkok to prevent chaos. He says if the decree is withdrawn, police will be the only force which is responsible for security in the capital.
