PPP Deputy Spokesman requests EC to inspect MPs and Senators
July 15th, 2008 - 12:12 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiDeputy Spokesman of the People Power party (PPP) Suphachai Chaisamut (ศุภชัย ใจสมุทร) requests the Election Commission (EC) to inspect MPs and senators with shares in the media businesses and companies which receive concessions from the government.
According to the deputy spokesman, he said there are atleast 33 senators who should be inspected by EC. They include Warin Thiemcharat (วริทร์ เทียมจรัส), Somchai Sawaengkarn (สมชาย แสวงการ), Assoc.Prof.Thatsana Boonthong (ทัศนา บุญทอง), and Deputy Senate Speaker Surachai Liangboonlertchai (สุรชัย เลี้ยงบุญเลิศชัย). There are also 28 MPs from the Democrat party who Mr Suphachai requests EC to examine, including Suthep Thuagsuban (สุเทพ เทือกสุบรรณ), Ong-art Klampaiboon (องอาจ คล้ามไพบูลย์), Khunying Kanlaya Sophonpanich (กัลยา โสภณพาณิช), M.R.Sukhumphan Paribatra (สุขุมพันธ์ บริพัตร), Thaworn Senniem (ถาวร เสนเนียม), and Trirong Suwannakhiri (ไตรรงค์ สุวรรรณคีรี).
The deputy spokesman says he wants EC to inspect 28 MPs and 33 senators not to discredit them but for justice, adding that they should be inspected similarly to former public health minister Chaiya Sasomsab (ไชยา สะสมทรัพย์).
