Poll says foreigners disagree with use of force with PAD’s protest

August 29th, 2008 - 2:14 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi -

Poll says Thailand’s image is still unaffected by political chaos as seen by foreigners and they think that the government should not use force to control the situation.

Director of the ABAC Poll Research Center Dr.Noppadon Kannikar (นพดล กรรณิกา) reports results of the survey on foreigners’ opinions on Thailand the ongoing political situation. The survey shows that the respondents are satisfied with many dimensions of the country and most of them or 61.5% have no knowledge about the government’s conflicts with the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD). Those who are acknowledged the conflicts say PAD’s rally at the Government House is a normal incident of the democratic system.

More than 76% of the foreigners think that the government should not resort to violence to disperse the protestors and as much as 97% say they will visit Thailand again in the future.
