Police prepare to post court notices in 5 key areas

August 29th, 2008 - 2:28 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi -

Secretary to the Interior Minister Supachai Jaisamutr (ศุภชัย ใจสมุทร) revealed after a meeting with the Interior Minister and high ranking police officers that 5 key points have been selected to post notices for the People’s Alliance for Democracy announcing the case warrant against them.

One hundred fifty police officers will be dispatched to each area to post the notices including Makkhawan bridge and the Equestrian Statue. Police will monitor orderliness of the posts for the time being.

Once the notices are posted they will also be declared through public address systems and the announcement will officialize the awareness of the protesters and obligate them to leave the area.

If police are met with opposition, or if any individuals attempt to destroy the notices, they will be charged with interfering with official business and be sentenced to 1 year in prison or fined 2,000 baht.
