PM to re-launch mega-projects after six months
July 19th, 2008 - 11:22 am ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
The Prime Minister and Defense Minister, Mr. Samak Sundaravej, insisted that his government will complete its four-year term, and is preparing to carry on the mega-projects after the six economic stimulus measures are effective during the second half of this year.
Mr. Samak delivered a speech after presiding over the opening ceremony of Munjai Thailand 2008 Fair at Impact Arena, Muang Thong Thani in Nonthaburi province yesterday (July 17th), saying certain sides continue to criticize the government no matter what it does. He said he wants his government to complete its four-year term.
In response to the criticisms on the government’s six short-term economic stimulus measures, Mr. Samak affirmed that the general public would benefit from them. He also countered the Democrat Party’s claim that it could perform better, saying the Democrat should wait and look at the results. He said he will let others look down upon him but he will not resign. He said the government will work on the unfinished mega-projects after the next six months, and they can bring in more jobs and happiness to the people
The Prime Minister said members of the public will benefit from Munjai Thailand 2008 Fair. He said the Ministry of Finance is hosting this event because it is more prepared than the Ministry of Commerce. However, he said there are no rifts between both ministries.
