Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Pongsakti Saemsan (พงศ์ศักติฐ์ เสมสันต์) acting as the Director of Local Elections in Bangkok led over 1000 civil servants and employees of the BMA to declare their intent to excercise their right to vote for Governor of Bangkok in an election to take place this coming October 5th. The act coincides with the 100% Voter Turn Out activity taking place in the capital.
A survey has found that out of the 91,523 employees of the BMA, 61,755 are eligible to vote. Nonetheless, the BMA Permanent Secretary expressed his opinion that constant promotion has shown positive feedback from citizens, adding that he is confident the residents of Bangkok are politically aware and active. Mr. Pongsakti also stated that he believes the current political turmoil will not be factored into citizen decisions.
