The People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protestors travel to gather in front of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to demand the ministry to abrogate the diplomatic passport of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra.
PAD also requests for the extradition of Mr Thaksin in order to bring him to the country to stand trial.
More than 100 police officers from the Phayathai Police station have been dispatched to provide security in front of the ministry. Ten trucks used to transport the detained have been parked in the ministry’s compound. Motorists are advised to avoid Si Ayutthaya Road until 12.00 hrs today (August, 21st) when the protestors are expected to return to their basement at Makhawan Rangsan Bridge.
