Deputy Spokesman for the National Police Pol. Maj. Gen. Surapol Tuanthong (สุรพล ทวนทอง) demands the removal of People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD)’s demonstrations on Phitsanulok and Ratchadamnoen roads in order to allow cabinet members, civil servants, and public motorists to be able to use the routes.
Following the PAD’s recent intrusion into the National Broadcasting of Thailand (NBT) compound and the Government House on August 26th, Gen. Surapol says the court has issued a temporary protection for state buildings and is enforcing arrest warrants against the PAD’s core leaders.
Gen. Surapol says the PAD protestors have been ordered to move out of the Government House area and relocate their rally stage from their current site. He says police officers’ will operate in compliance with the court’s recent injunctions, adding that the arrest of the PAD’s core leaders will be conducted openly.
