PAD accepts public referendum proposal, remains adamant that Cabinet resigns
September 4th, 2008 - 4:50 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiPeople’s Alliance for Democracy lead activist Mr. Somsak Kosaisuk (สมศักดิ์ โกศัยสุข) reveals that the PAD is willing to accept the government’s decision to conduct a public referendum to aid in resolving Thailand’s political crisis. Mr. Somsak affirms that the PAD is open to solutions form all sides, but its core demands for the resignation of the Prime Minister and the Cabinet remains the same.
The PAD lead activist said that a public referendum would allow the opinions of the public majority regarding Thailand’s political situation to be heard. Meanwhile People’s Alliance for Democracy demonstrators currently rallying at Government House remain in good spirits, with a steady number of citizens joining the assembly despite the hot weather. PAD activists continue to take turns holding speeches condemning Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej (สมัคร สุนทรเวช).
