The Director of the Provincial Electricity Authority Area 1 of the North, Mr. Uthai Pattanavirakij (อุทัย พัฒนวีระกิจ), stated that a government measure to reduce energy costs, which is one of the government’s six economic aid measures, will extend to about nine million citizens nationwide. He revealed that the six northern provinces will benefit from the measure totaling 980,000 citizens who use less than 80 units of energy per month.
A study of citizen electricity usage will extend until the end of this month and will also take place from August 21st to 30th. Citizens who use less than 80 units per month will no longer have to pay for electricity and citizens using between 81 and 150 units will only have to pay half.
The director did project problems in the study of the electricity unit, admitting that study time would be a factor.
