National Research Council holding meeting to create sustainable forests

Chairman of the National Research Council’s Agriculture and Biology Division Assistant Professor Saran Watanajchariya (ศรัณย์ วรรธนัจฉริยา) stated that the nation’s forest and resources have been greatly reduced have affected biodiversity and animal life. He said that the nation has had to change from being an exporter of wood products to an importer, thus policies to protect the nations natural resources are of paramount importance. He asked that the government support systematic research and also called on citizens to have a part in the studies.

The National Research Council is today holding a meeting to decipher framework in researching the development of forests. The conclusions of the meeting will contribute to research to create sustainable forests.
