The winners from National English Speech Contest, 2008 encourage Thai youths to learn English to help extend their frontier of education. They claimed English was not difficult as many may think.
The Permanent Secretary of the Education Ministry, Khunying Kasama Worawan na Ayudhaya (กษมา วรวรรณ ณ อยุธยา), presided over the event and confered the awards to the winners of the contest.
The contest is classified into four divisions. Students from Primary School level 1-3 were contesting in the 1st division and Dek Ying Chatnicha Chuikhum (เด็กหญิงฌัฎนิชา ช่วยคุ้ม) from Saritdidet School of Chanthaburi province is the winner in this division.
Students from Primary School level 4-6 were contesting in the 2nd division and Dek Cahi Pheeraphat Oldenburger (เด็กชายพีรพัฒน์ โอลเดนเบอร์เกอร์) from Daorung Witthaya School of Phuket province is the winner in this division. Students from Junior High School level 1-3 were contesting in the 3nd division and Dek Ying Natchaya Suwannaphong (เด็กหญิงฌัฐชยา สุวรรณพงศ์) from Chonkanyanukul (ชลกันยานุกูล) School of Chol Buri province is the winner in this division.
At the same time, students from High School level 4-6 were contesting in the 4nd division and Mr. Chanathip Suksevi (ชนาธิป สุขเสวี) from is the winner in this division. The committee commented that all contestants used too much body language during the contest.
