Municipal workers in Chiang Rai initiate 24 hour surveillance of Mae Sai river

September 8th, 2008 - 1:33 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi -

The flood situation in Chiang Rai provinces’ Mae Sai River region has begun to decline after causing damages to 50 vendors with a 50 centimeter high water level. The river still has a large amount of water and has prompted municipal workers to install warning systems and place watch guards along the river 24 hours a day. Rains at the river’s sources are continuing.

Waters have declined nonetheless to the point of returning some districts in the province to normal. Authorities are now beginning to survey damage acquired from the floods.
