Border Patrol Police in area 346 of Mae Sot province and Immigration Police stationed at Baan Huay Hin Fon (บ้านห้วยหินฝน) today detained and inspected a pickup truck driven by Mr. Janewut Intharachit (เจนวุธ อินทรชิต) aged 38. Despite the vehicle’s exterior appearance seemingly normal, police noticed a modification in the trucks rear where a fiber sheet was purposely placed to conceal a secret compartment. Upon inspect immigration officers discovered 18 illegal laborers hailing from Myanmar. Seven of the laborers were men and the rests were women, in a lying posture in the secret compartment.
The apprehended driver confessed that he had been hired to transport the illegal laborers to Si Moom Muang Market (สี่มุมเมือง) and Thai Market at the payment of 9,000 baht per laborer. All involved in the matter were sent to the Mae Sot provincial Police Station for further questioning.
