Level 10 Agriculture civil servants to be reshuffled

August 27th, 2008 - 3:28 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi -

Following a recent Cabinet meeting, approximately five level 10 civil servants from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MAAC) will be transferred.

Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Somsak Prissananthakul (สมศักดิ์ ปริศนานันทกุล) reveals that Chief Inspector General Mr. Chalit Darongsak (นายชลิต ดำรงศักดิ์), will take the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives while Inspector General Mr. At Inthalak (อรรถ อินทลักษณ์), will take the position of Director-General of the ministry.

Moreover, Ms. Methinee Sukhontharak (เมธินี สุคนธรักษ์), the Director-General of the Agriculture Department, will become the Director of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) while incumbent Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Mr. Suraphon Theraphat (สรพล เถระพัฒน์), will take the position of Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Moreover, Mr. Somchai Channarongkul (สมชาย ชาญณรงค์กุล), the Inspector General of the MAAC, will take the position of the Director General of the Agriculture Department.

Mr. Somsak insists the reshuffle is based on the consideration of the officials’ competencies and abilities to work in the ministry, not only from their seniority. He says it is normal for civil servants to dispute or agree with the reshuffle.
