The Ministry of Interior has received confirmation from high ranking officials of state enterprises that water and electricity will continue to be supplied.
The Deputy Spokesperson to the Ministry of Interior, M.L. Panadha Disakul (ม.ล.ปนัดดา ดิศกุล), affirms that all state enterprises have confirmed their continued provision of water and electricity to the public, following rumors that state enterpise labor unions have sided with the People’s Alliance for Democracy in order to pressure the government.
M.L. Panadha said that the Minister of Interior has urged all state enterprise officials to cooperate and unite. The Minister of Interior asked state workers to carefully consider the impact of their actions to the nation. Governors nationwide have also been instructed to ensure the welfare of citizens and to maintain normalcy within their province. The Minister of Interior also asked governors to report any significant incidents to the central government and the ministry.
The Deputy Spokesperson to the Ministry of Interior said that state enterprise workers who have decided to take a leave of absence to join demonstrators will not be punished, as cooperation and unity are the main focus of the government. M.L. Panadha said that the Ministry of Interior is also prepared should its compound suffer from water and electrical shortages.
