Interior Minister follows rally situation closely at police meeting
September 1st, 2008 - 1:27 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiDeputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Police General Kowit Watana (โกวิท วัฒนะ) joined National Police Commander, Police General Patcharawat Wongsuwan (พัชรวาท วงษ์สุวรรณ) and his Deputy, Interim Metropolitan Police Commander Police General Jongrak Chuthanon (จงรัก จุฑานนท์) as well as other high ranking officers in a meeting to evaluate the ongoing People’s Alliance for Democracy meeting. The minister followed the details of the rally closely. The National Police Commander affirmed that officers would contribute their best effort to detering clashes between the PAD and the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship (DAAD).
Security at the rally is currently changing shifts while continuing stringent monitoring of the gathering.
