The Thai government will host a banquet for the disabled athletes who took part in the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games on October 3rd, 2008 at the Thai Army Club on Vibhavadi Rangsit Road.
The Tourism and Sports Minister, Mr. Weerasak Kowsurat, said financial rewards will also be granted to the athletes at the banquet.
However, he said his ministry and the committee responsible for overseeing sport development funds will have to consult whether the financial rewards could be given to the athletes before the government will announce its policy to the Parliament. He believed the money will be granted to them before the end of September nonetheless.
In addition, Mr Weerasak said after being reappointed as the Tourism and Sports Minister that he will carry on the remaining tasks of his ministry.
