Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Phaibun Pholsuwan (ไพบูลย์ พลสุวรรณา) discloses Japanese investors have expressed their interest to establish their business in Thailand.
After his meeting with executives from three Institutions of Private Joint Committee and representatives from the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Mr. Phaibun says products from small and medium enterprises are in the interest of Japanese investors. He says investors wish to have Thailand as their production base, and the products will be distributed to ASEAN markets.
Mr. Phaibun says however, investors also expressed their concerned over obstructions from Thailand’s Retail Business Bill indicating a prevention of franchise business and ignorance of copyright violation. He assures the investors that Thai laws are very supportive to all kind of investments, and Thai officers are seriously tackling pirated products.
