Former Commerce Minister confident in successorAugust 4th, 2008 - 3:00 pm ICT by Amrit Rashmisrisethi
Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce Mingkhwan Saengsuwan (มิ่งขวัญ แสงสุวรรณ์) believes that his successor is fully capable of handling his duties. Mr. Mingkhwan declined to comment, however, on whether his reassignment from his dual positions to the sole position of Minister of Industry would diminish his reputation in his capacity as economic policy-maker for the nation.
The former Deputy Prime Minister reveals that he has yet to hold an officials meeting with his successor to discuss the transfer of policies. Meanwhile Mr. Mingkhwan’s former office on the 11th floor of the Ministry of Commerce now no longer bears his name plate, and the former Commerce Minister’s personal effects have all been removed.
