Finance Ministry and financial institutions launches measures to aid flood victims

Finance Minister Suchart Thadathamrongwet (สุชาติ ธาดาธำรงเวช) calls a meeting between eight financial institutions supervised by the ministry to outline measures to assist the flood victims. The Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives says it will extend the debt payment period for another three years and will not collect interests for three years for the flood-affected clients whose properties have been damaged by not less than 50%. The bank will also release loans of not higher than 400,000 baht for each of the clients for occupation revival and life quality development.
Other financial institutions cooperating with the ministry in aiding the flood victims include the Government Savings Bank, the Government Housing Bank, the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand, the Export-Import Bank of Thailand, the Islamic Bank of Thailand, the Small Business Credit Guarantee Corporation, and the Secondary Mortgage Cooperation.
