The Ministry of Energy says the policy to promote gasohol is appropriate for the present oil price situation and urges automobile producers to adjust themselves to the energy situation.
Energy Minister Poonpirom Liptapanlop (พูนภิรมย์ ลิปตพัลลภ) says the government’s gasohol policy is clear and right for the present energy situation, adding that the promotion of gasohol, especially E85, will benefit automobile producers as it will help expanding their markets.
The minister says the government also has a policy to develop the country as a hub of automobile manufacturing and export of the region.
Mrs Poonpirom also says the ministry is considering whether to change the margin between the prices of diesel and bio-diesel B5 to stay at the old amount of 70 Satang a liter following the Cabinet’s resolution to reduce excise taxes of the two kinds of oil. At present, their margin is 48 Satang a liter.
