- Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee says he is confident that the ongoing political situation will not lead to a coup d’état and will not affect investor confidence.
The deputy premier also dismisses the rumors that the Election Commission (EC) will dissolve the People Power party, adding that the rumors will not have direct effect on foreign investors. He further added that investors are well informed of the political situation and have prepared shields for themselves 2 months ago. Mr Surapong also says he believes that there should be no further problem to aggravate the political sentiment.
As for a lawsuit by People’s Alliance for Democracy against three ministers involved in the 2-3 digit lottery case, the deputy premier declines to comment on the matter and says he will talk about it after the court rules whether the minister should cease working.
