Deputy Prime Minister Olarn Chaiprawat (โอฬาร ไชยประวัติ) and Finance Minister Mr. Suchart Thada-Thamrongvech (สุชาติ ธาดาธำรงเวช) are about to hold a discussion this morning (September 30th) with the committee that follow economic movements amidst emergency state in order to evaluate situations and consequences, resulted from the US financial crisis.
Mr. Suchart says the discussion today prior to the Cabinet meeting will include portfolios from the Ministry of Finance, Fiscal Policy Office, Public Department Management, the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board, and the Bank of Thailand.
Mr. Suchart says plans to tackle repercussions from the US financial crisis will be brought up to the discussion, adding that more measures will be considered whether or not should be added to the plans. Following his recent discussion with the Thai Bankers’ Association, he claims that the US financial crisis has created a slight impact in Thailand’s financial liquidity, comparing to other countries.
