Deputy Minister of Finance Pradit Pattaraprasit (ประดิษฐ์ ภัทรประสิทธิ์) reports that the Customs Department has collected over 82 billion baht in revenue over the first 10 months during the 2006-2007 fiscal year, 9.1 billion baht higher than expected. For the 2007-2008 fiscal year, the Customs Department has set a revenue collection target of 87.8 billion baht.
Customs duties, excise tax, value added tax, and other tax categories accounted for a total of 241.815 billion baht in revenue collection, 10 billion baht higher than expected. The Customs Department collected a total of 8.995 billion baht in revenue in July of 2008, 1.550 billion baht higher than expected.
