The Department of Water Resources has begun monitoring the water situation as the nation moves into the monsoon season. A warning station in Mae Sai (แม่สาย) district of Chiang Rai province this morning issued a warning to citizens that there may be a flash flood situation.
As of 5:30 AM this morning, a collected rain fall of 12 hours led the Hydrology Survey Center to issue reports to the Mae Sai Municipal Works and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Citizens are asked to remain wary as forecasts project more rain.
