Chart Thai leader to coordinate with govt. and protestors
September 2nd, 2008 - 4:26 pm ICT by Amrit RashmisrisethiLeader of the Chart Thai party Banharn Silpa-archa says he is ready to intervene with all sides to find ways to defuse the political tension.
The Chart Thai leader says the government decided to enforce Emergency Decree as it wants to control and improve the situation. He says Army Chief Gen Anupong Paochinda who has been assigned by the premier to control the situation will find measures to deal with the protestors.
Mr Banharn says his party will keep monitoring the situation and he believes that the political conflict will be resolved if all sides respect laws. As for the Election Commission’s (EC) resolution to dissolve the People Power party, Mr Banharn says it will not affect the ongoing rally as the dissolution case is the responsibility of the court.
